About

We were fortunate enough to have theesteemed Prof Greta Dreyer talk to us about HPV screening on the 19th ofOctober.  The informative andground-breaking research was presented to us in her talk, titled "How andwhy should we introduce primary HPV screening in higher resourced sections ofSA?"

We are grateful to the SA HPV Board fortheir work on developing a clear protocol to manage screen positives. Themanagement guidelines include treating the highest risk categories directly, while intermediate-risk viral types are triaged using age, HIV status, andreflex cytology for selected women. The presentation included data supportingthese statements, as well as current screening algorithms.

We would also like to extend ourappreciation to JDW Pathology for sponsoring this talk and their dedication tocontinued education.
